So you just got your new Kydex Holster (Hopefully from us!) and perhaps you are new to Kydex, hopefully these tips will have you on your way!

The beauty of a Kydex holster is its simplicity. It's super simple, does not require much maintenance and it should last practically forever.

So we wanted to give you the run down on our 4 quick tips for your new holster.

1. Adjust your retention

We go to great lengths to ensure our Holsters have good retention.

However, some people may find the holster too tight and want to loosen it a bit or prefer to tighten it for a stiffer draw. You can do this easily by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen or tighten the 2 screws on your holster slightly as shown in the picture below. Now you can fine tune it to your exact liking for the perfect draw every time!

2. Adjust your CANT

Also if you have one of our holsters with a quick clip like this one, you can adjust the cant angle of the holster to suit you by loosening the screw on the right and sliding the clip down and retightening the screw.

3. Cleaning is easy

If you have been to the range, your gun might have some dust, debris, powder etc left on your gun.

When you re-holster, some of that may get in your holster, and over time create some wear on the finish of your gun. When you clean your gun, you should also clean your holster by giving it a quick rinse under a tap with lukewarm water and running a washcloth with some soap and water on it through the holster to make sure the inside is clean.

4. Tightening your belt clips

Over time as you take your holster on and off, although the screws on the belt clip might have Loctite on them, they may work a little loose, so periodically checking them and giving them a little tightening is never a bad thing.

5. Don't leave it out in the sun/heat.

For example, if you leave your holster on the dashboard of your car in the sun whilst you go inside, and it's 90 degrees out, this will heat the kydex and could affect the integrity of it's retention.

And that is about it!

Hopefully you enjoy your new holster and carry it daily! Remember to dry fire and hit the range to practice your draw from concealment!
